G618 Series: Ultra‑Low‑Power Tracker for Safety Helmets and Pet Collars
25g · No Buttons · Auto‑On · RGB Ring Light

The lightest tracker in the product line — 25 grams
The G618 series is the lightest tracker in the entire product line at 25 grams. It was designed for two applications that share a surprising set of requirements: long battery life, no user interaction, resistance to rain and dust, and reliable positioning across outdoor and indoor transitions.
On a construction site, it clips onto the rear band of a hard hat. Workers don't press anything. The device auto-powers on when removed from the charger at the start of shift. It tracks position continuously. When the shift ends, it goes back on the charger.
On a dog collar, it threads through a loop and disappears into the fur. The dog doesn't know it's there. The owner checks location from a phone. The RGB ring glows at night for visibility.
Why no buttons?
The G618 series has zero physical buttons on the device body. The only button is on the magnetic charging cable, used for pairing and configuration during initial setup.
For a construction worker wearing gloves, no buttons means nothing to accidentally press while handling equipment. For a dog running through brush, no buttons means nothing to snag on branches or trigger against a fence. The device powers on automatically when removed from the charger. It powers down or enters sleep when returned.
The RGB ring light circling the top of the device replaces the visual feedback that buttons would normally provide: charging status, network registration, low battery, and SOS confirmation (triggered via platform, not a physical press on the device itself).
Mounting options: safety helmets and pet collars
The G618 series ships with mounting clips that support three attachment styles for safety helmets:
Clip onto the rear adjustment band of any standard hard hat — no drilling, no bracket, no modification
Adhesive mount onto the helmet body for a lower-profile installation
Hang from the helmet brim hole using the included clip
At 25 grams, the weight is imperceptible on a helmet. A worker doing a 10-hour shift forgets it's there. IPX6 waterproofing means rain, sweat, and dust don't affect operation.
For pets, the device threads through a collar loop or attaches via zip-tie. The RGB ring light provides nighttime visibility. The same hardware works for both use cases.
Multi-source positioning for mixed environments
Construction sites, factories, and port facilities are mixed environments. A worker walks from an outdoor yard (GPS) into a steel-framed warehouse (no GPS, no cellular) and then into an underground utility tunnel (nothing).
The G618 series handles all four transitions with multi-source positioning:
GPS + BDS (BeiDou) — outdoor yard, open road, 5-20m
WiFi fingerprinting — transitional zones, office areas, 10-50m
Cellular LBS — fallback when satellite and WiFi are unavailable
BLE 5.1 beacon scanning — indoor, warehouse, tunnel, 1-3m with beacons; sub-meter with AoA gateway
The device switches sources automatically. No worker action required.
Five network variants
| Model | Network | UWB | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| G618G | 4G Cat.1 | N/A | Mainland China — standard, widest coverage, 3-year SIM |
| G618M | Cat.M (eMTC) | N/A | US, Japan, Korea, Canada, Australia, NZ, Europe |
| G618L | LoRaWAN | N/A | Private network, no cellular fees, on-premise data |
| G618GU | 4G + UWB + BLE | YES (MK8000, CH5/CH9) | High-precision indoor/outdoor with proximity alarm |
| G618LU | LoRaWAN + UWB | YES (MK8000, CH5/CH9) | Private network + UWB precision |
G618GU and G618LU — UWB proximity alarm
UWB variants integrate with the G908GU sound and light alarm system. A worker wearing the tracker approaches a moving forklift carrying a G908GU. Within configurable range, the forklift alarm triggers and both devices push the proximity event to the cloud. Accuracy: under 0.5 meters. This is the same collision-avoidance architecture deployed in chemical plants and mining operations.
A farm dog wearing a G618GU can trigger the same system when approaching a tractor or harvester.
Battery and charging
| Parameter | Detail |
|---|---|
| Battery | 600mAh Li-ion |
| Charging | Magnetic USB, 2 hours |
| Standby | 20+ days |
| Normal use | 7+ days (default periodic reporting) |
| Auto-on | Device powers on when unplugged from charger |
The Cortex M4 + Cat.1 bis low-power architecture keeps system idle current below 0.1mA. The Cat.1 bis module draws under 10µA in deep sleep. Motion-triggered reporting suppresses positioning when the wearer is stationary — a helmet sitting on a rack for hours or a dog sleeping doesn't burn battery reporting the same location.

What the G618 series is NOT
No health sensors. For heart rate, SpO2, or temperature monitoring, see the G608 series.
No buttons on the device body. Configuration and pairing use the button on the charging cable.
IPX6 handles splashes and heavy jets, not sustained submersion. For swimming or diving, use the G638 series (IPX7).
The RGB ring is visible at night but is not a high-power search beacon. In dense environments at long range, treat it as a close-range visual aid.
The buzzer is not included. For audible alerts, see the G608 series or G638 series.
Deployment scenarios
Construction site — worker safety and attendance
A 500-worker construction project deploys G618G trackers clipped to every hard hat. Morning shift: workers collect charged devices from the charging station. Device auto-powers on when unplugged. GPS tracks outdoor yard movement. BLE beacons at stairwells and floor entrances track indoor location. Geofencing alerts trigger if a worker enters a restricted zone. Evening shift: devices returned to chargers. Platform generates attendance report and full movement logs.
Pet tracking — dog collar with night visibility
A family dog wears the G618G threaded onto a collar. GPS tracks walks and yard boundaries. WiFi and BLE cover indoor transitions. The RGB ring glows at night for visibility on dark streets. Offline buffering records the path through a forest trail — no cellular coverage, no data loss. Owner checks the app to confirm the dog's activity and location history.
Dual deployment — same hardware, shared platform
A farm operation deploys G618G for both worker helmets and livestock collars. All devices appear on a single cloud dashboard. Worker location and animal location are managed side by side. The hardware is identical. The difference is purely in mounting and platform labeling.
