One badge platform. Eight ways to configure it.

All G805 series badges share the same physical design: a single oversized button on the front, 101 × 59 × 9mm, 50 grams, lanyard form factor, white PC+ABS body. The differences are entirely in the radio configuration — which determines what happens when the wearer presses SOS, how the badge reports position, and whether it can talk.

Complete model comparison

Note on G805E vs G805M: These are the same hardware platform (Cat.M + NB-IoT for international markets). The different model codes exist for regional market identification and procurement compatibility. Functionally, they are identical. If your deployment is in North America, Japan, Korea, Australia, or New Zealand, either model code will serve the same purpose. Confirm with our sales team which code matches your region's import and certification requirements.

G805B and G805B*: The cost-effective workhorses

G805B is the baseline NB-IoT badge. No voice. No 125KHz. No UWB. It handles positioning (GPS/BDS + WiFi + BLE + LBS), SOS alerts with GPS coordinates, geofencing, historical trajectory, and patrol check-in. The pre-installed 3-year IoT SIM ships ready to activate. Deploy hundreds or thousands at the lowest per-unit network cost. For a city-wide sanitation fleet, a school district, or any deployment where voice communication is unnecessary.

G805B* uses identical hardware but ships with one of four specialized firmware profiles:

1. Indoor positioning mode: Beacon scan at configurable intervals (default every 30 seconds), optimized for BLE-heavy indoor deployments

2. SOS alarm mode: Ultra-low-power alarm-only configuration; 200+ day battery life; positioning disabled until SOS is triggered

3. Patrol check-in mode: Continuous beacon scanning (every 2-5 seconds) for walk-through checkpoint logging without stopping

4. Portable Bluetooth gateway mode: The badge acts as a mobile BLE scanner, detecting nearby BLE devices and reporting MAC addresses and signal strength to the cloud via NB-IoT — a temporary, battery-powered alternative to fixed Bluetooth gateways

The G805B* is the same hardware as the G805B with different firmware. The firmware profile is selected at time of order. It can be changed via OTA update if deployment requirements evolve.

G805+: The one that makes phone calls

The G805+ carries two independent network modules: an NB-IoT modem (with a pre-installed 3-year IoT SIM) and a 4G Cat.1 modem (with a user-provided SIM slot for a standard voice SIM).

What this dual-SIM architecture enables:

• NB-IoT handles all positioning and data. The pre-installed IoT SIM runs positioning, health data reporting, and platform communication at ultra-low power. This works out of the box — no configuration needed.

• 4G Cat.1 handles voice calls. Insert a voice SIM from any carrier (China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom). Configure up to 3 emergency contacts. When SOS is pressed: An alert with GPS coordinates is sent to the cloud platform; the badge cycles through the 3 contacts, calling each in sequence until someone answers; the call is full duplex — wearer and contact speak directly through the badge's speaker and microphone.

Without a 4G SIM inserted, the G805+ functions identically to a G805B. The NB-IoT connection handles everything. This makes it the most flexible badge — deploy it as a basic tracker now, add voice calling later by inserting a SIM, no hardware change required.

125KHz low-frequency detection: A 125KHz receiver detects OV125 triggers installed at doorways, gates, or hazard zone perimeters. When the badge passes within range (1-3 meters), it logs the passage automatically — no action from the wearer. Use cases: Contactless attendance at nursing home exits, school gates, construction site entrances; Hazard zone alerts when a badge enters a restricted area; Asset protection when tagged equipment is moved past a trigger point.

Triggers and badges must be deployed together. Triggers are sold separately.

G805G: The one that speaks to the wearer

Single 4G Cat.1 modem with pre-installed 3-year IoT SIM. Built-in speaker for TTS (text-to-speech) voice broadcast — messages pushed from the platform are read aloud:

• "Alert sent. Help is on the way."

• "You have entered a restricted area. Please return."

• "It is time to take your afternoon medication."

• "Severe weather alert. Seek shelter immediately."

The G805G broadcasts messages to the wearer. It does not support two-way voice calls in its standard configuration. A VoLTE variant that adds two-way calling is available — contact us for specifications.

Choose G805G over G805+ if: You want TTS broadcast to the wearer, and don't need the dual-SIM architecture or 125KHz detection. The G805G's voice function is about informing the wearer; the G805+'s voice function is about connecting the wearer to a contact.

G805E and G805M: International Cat.M variants

Both use Cat.M (eMTC) + NB-IoT dual-mode modules. Cat.M provides higher data rates than NB-IoT with comparable power consumption — useful in markets where Cat.M infrastructure is mature: United States, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.

SIM card is user-provided per local carrier requirements. G805E supports optional 125KHz; G805M does not. Otherwise, they are functionally identical. The dual model codes accommodate different regional certification and procurement requirements.

G805U and G805GU: UWB precision variants

G805U (UWB + BLE only): No cellular. No GPS. Designed for indoor-only deployments where UWB AoA base stations provide positioning. A single base station covers 30m+ radius, up to 2000m², tracking ≥200 tags simultaneously at 10-30cm accuracy. Best for warehouses, factory floors, hospital wards — enclosed spaces with UWB infrastructure.

G805GU (4G + UWB + BLE): Adds 4G Cat.1 cellular backhaul and GPS/BDS to the UWB architecture. Workers move seamlessly between outdoor GPS zones and indoor UWB zones. The badge switches positioning mode automatically. 4G provides the data pipe for both positioning and alerts. Best for hybrid sites — chemical plants, large construction sites — where workers transition between open areas and buildings.

The patrol check-in system (all variants)

All G805 badges support BLE beacon auto check-in, shared with the G628G badge platform.

• Standard mode: Beacon scan at configurable intervals (default 30s). Home care, property maintenance, service calls.

• Patrol mode: Continuous scanning (every 2-5s). Walk-through checkpoint logging. No stopping. No interaction.

GPS/BDS and WiFi run at 10-minute intervals where beacons are absent. Offline buffering (1MB Flash) stores data during cellular signal loss.

Waterproof approach

G805 body is not waterproof. Each unit ships with a waterproof sleeve (IPX5). For shower use, ensure the sleeve is properly sealed. Replace the sleeve if torn.

What the G805 series is NOT

G805+ deployment example: nursing home

A 150-bed nursing home deploys G805+ badges for all residents.

• NB-IoT handles routine positioning at 10-minute intervals. BLE beacons in corridors and common rooms provide 1-3m indoor accuracy. GPS/BDS covers the garden.

• 125KHz triggers at exits: OV125 triggers at main gate and side doors. A resident approaching within 3m triggers a platform alert — no resident action needed.

• 4G voice SIM for emergencies: SOS calls 3 contacts sequentially until answered. The resident speaks through the badge.

• RFID for access and payment: M1 chip handles door access and canteen purchases.

This deployment uses every G805+ capability but scales down — a facility without voice needs can deploy G805B at lower cost using the same infrastructure.
