Why you need a dedicated gateway for infant monitoring
You could use a smartphone as a BLE receiver. But parents don't keep their phone within 10 metres of the crib 24/7, and they can't monitor multiple bands simultaneously. The BG601 is a purpose‑built bridge: always on, always listening, and always connected to the cloud.
It collects BLE broadcasts from B601 wristbands (up to 50 metres line‑of‑sight), then forwards the data to our cloud platform via your home Wi‑Fi or an optional 4G SIM. The gateway also measures room temperature and sound level, so you know not only the infant's vitals but also the environment.

How to set up
Place the BG601 gateway within 10‑15 metres of the infant's crib (BLE range).
Connect to power and configure Wi‑Fi via the mobile app (or insert a 4G SIM for standalone operation).
Pair one or more B601 bands – the gateway automatically discovers all broadcasting bands in range.
Set alert thresholds (e.g., SpO2 <92%, temperature >38°C) in the cloud platform.
Receive notifications on your phone when thresholds are crossed or when the band is removed.
What the BG601 is NOT
Not a standalone health tracker – It only receives data from B601 bands. It has no display or local storage for historical data (all data is cloud‑forwarded).
Not a multi‑protocol gateway – Supports BLE only. For LoRaWAN or Zigbee, see our other gateways.
No battery backup – Requires continuous USB power. A power outage will disconnect monitoring.
Deployment example: kindergarten with 30 children
A daycare centre equipped each child with a B601 band and installed three BG601 gateways (one per classroom). Each gateway collected real‑time heart rate and temperature for up to 15 children simultaneously (BLE capacity >30 per gateway). Teachers received alerts on a central tablet if a child's temperature exceeded 38°C or if the band was removed. The system also tracked outdoor play duration via BLE AoA positioning (gateway integrated). The centre reduced manual temperature checks by 80% and improved emergency response time.
